Initiation

Initiations mark a border. You are no longer who you were, and you are not yet who you are becoming. We cross these thresholds throughout our lives, consciously and unconsciously. We lose a bit of ourselves, or allow a part to die, in order to make room for what is next. Emerging through the portal of initiation, it may be difficult to recognize oneself. Ideally, we pace ourselves as we step through these doorways, but sometimes we are thrown across by circumstances beyond our control. Either way, there is no going back.
